Position Details

  • Specialty: OB Hospitalist (Physician)

  • Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time or Part-Time (benefits eligible)

  • Compensation: $135/hr

  • Shifts:

    • Full-time: 7.5 (24-hour) shifts/month

    • Part-time: Minimum of 5.5 (24-hour) shifts/month (still benefits eligible)

  • Start Date: ASAP (Active TX License required)

  • Setting: Hospital-based, supporting a large women’s health service line


Job Description

As an OB Hospitalist at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered obstetric and gynecologic care. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing annual delivery volume of ~1,924 (including ~96 vaginal and C-section deliveries performed by hospitalists)

  • Oversight of OB triage, inpatient admissions, and unscheduled outpatient OB/GYN visits (~2,296 annually)

  • Conducting OBED consults (~1,229 annually)

  • Collaborating with neonatologists, NNPs, and MFM specialists in a Level II NICU

  • Providing coverage for unassigned patients and private call support

  • Responding to OB/GYN emergencies, attending deliveries, and performing Cesarean sections

  • Ensuring patient safety and supporting women’s health services across the community

Candidate Requirements

  • Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) in OB/GYN – REQUIRED

  • Active TX license (or in process) – REQUIRED

  • DEA (must be obtained prior to start) – REQUIRED

  • Clean malpractice and license history – Highly Preferred

  • Must confirm interest in Full-Time or Part-Time employment

  • Not accepting locums or visa candidates (J1/H1B not eligible)
