Nuvance Health, proudly joining Northwell Health, has an exciting opportunity for a Chair of Ob/Gyn at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, located just 75 minutes north of New York City. The Chair of Ob/Gyn will focus on strategic program development, recruitment, mentorship, practice development, quality, patient experience, and collaboration within our communities and with our voluntary physician partners. Vassar’s busy Labor and Delivery Unit sees about 2800 babies born each year. We have a level III NICU staffed by neonatologists and additional Allied Health providers as well as an excellent Perinatology program. In addition, we have fellowship trained breast surgeons and gyn oncologists that are located on the Vassar Hospital campus.
The Chair of Ob/Gyn at Vassar Brothers Medical Center will be responsible for ensuring that we provide high quality, cost effective care to patients. They will share responsibility for the supervision and direction of day-to-day operations and services with the appropriate administrative partners and also maintain clinical practice.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of clinical experience post training and 5 years of leadership roles and/or responsibilities at a large, community teaching hospital and/or academic medical center. Preference will be accorded to candidates who have demonstrated the ability to organize and oversee the strategic and operational aspects of a large clinical service in a teaching environment. Strong communication skills are essential and a track record of leading a group of physicians and collaborating effectively with hospital management and professionals in other disciplines is valued. The candidate must be MD/DO with completed residency training and board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology or any sub-specialty in Women’s Health. New York state licensure (or eligibility to obtain NY state licensure) is required.
