Nocturnist_Hospitalist for the Department of Neurosurgery at Jefferson Health

Job Description

The Department of Neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Nocturnist Hospitalist to join our team at the Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience (JHN) in Philadelphia, PA.

The Nocturnist Hospitalist will provide overnight inpatient care, admissions, and clinical support for neurosurgical patients. This role is essential to maintaining continuity of care, ensuring patient safety, and supporting the neurosurgery team during night hours. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented physician committed to academic medicine, clinical excellence, and advancing patient care in a specialized neuroscience environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct overnight inpatient care for neurosurgery patients at JHN

  • Perform admissions, medical management, and cross-coverage

  • Collaborate with neurosurgery residents, advanced practice providers, and attending neurosurgeons

  • Ensure high-quality, evidence-based patient care with a focus on safety and outcomes

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

  • Eligible for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

  • Previous hospitalist or nocturnist experience preferred

  • Strong interest in academic medicine and multidisciplinary collaboration
