Geriatric Physician position open in beautiful Loma Linda, CA!
The VA Loma Linda Healthcare System (VALLHCS) is actively recruiting to fill a Board-Certified or Board Eligible Geriatric Medicine Physician to staff our Community Living Center (CLC). Selected candidate will be considered for a faculty appointment at Loma Linda University, and will be involved with the education and teaching of medical students, residents & other providers. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.
Paid Time Off: 55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and 5 day of paid absence for CME).
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification).
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided.
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.
Tour of Duty: Monday–Friday 8 a.m.—4:30 p.m. (Some call may be required)
Salary: $275,000—$300,000 per year.
The physician will be responsible for delivering primary care within an Interdisciplinary Team model to a diverse population of veterans who suffer from a variety of medical problems (e.g., dementia, delirium, urinary incontinence, falls, wounds, COPD, CHF, diabetes mellitus, etc.). The duties will include the evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic medical problems, the completion of physical examinations, the initiation of consultations to specialty services, the ordering of diagnostic studies (e.g., laboratory tests, x-rays, electrocardiograms, etc.), the performance of health promotion and disease prevention, providing education and counseling to veterans and their families, recommending diagnostic and therapeutic treatment options (e.g., medications), and completing documentation in the medical record in accordance with bylaws and rules and regulations of the Medical Staff.
Board certification or Board eligible in Geriatric Medicine, or Internal Medicine, is preferred.
