The Division of Trauma Surgery at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix (BUMCP) is seeking a midcareer Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon with a strong track record in clinical research and academic leadership. This unique role combines high-volume clinical care with the opportunity to shape research strategy and mentor trainees in an academic, multidisciplinary environment.
About the Institution:
BUMCP is a 766-bed, Magnet-recognized, ACS-verified Level 1 Trauma Center (adult-only), affiliated with the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. The Trauma Division includes 12 faculty, 10 APPs, and provides comprehensive trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care services. The division is actively expanding elective surgery volume and integrating advanced surgical technologies.
Position Highlights:
Academic appointment at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix, commensurate with experience. Key focus on clinical research development, fellowship program support, and trauma program advancement. Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment with high acuity in trauma, acute care, and critical care patients. Contribute to the academic development of medical students, residents, and fellows through teaching and mentorship.
