Vascular Surgery Job at CommonSpirit Health in Chattanooga, TN

The Physician Assistant is responsible for utilizing training and skills to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

• Obtain medical histories when necessary.
• Perform physical exams (within established wound protocol).
• Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol wound guidelines).
• Order diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment (within protocol guidelines).
• Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.
• Assist wound center providers with wound clinic procedures.
• Maintain patient’s privacy and confidentiality.
• Make follow-up calls to check patient progress.
• Work closely with wound center nurses to assure patient flow is efficient.
• Assist wound center providers and inpatient wound nurse(s) with inpatient wound consults as well as see these patients independently.
• Consult with doctor regarding patient symptoms to assure proper diagnosis and plan of treatment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• Graduate of a Physician Assistant training Program

Required Licensure and Certifications

• TN State PA License required
• AHA BLS
