Job Description

Assistant Medical Director

Neurodevelopmental Disabilities / Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics / Neurology
Center for Autism Services, Science, and Innovation (CASSI)
Kennedy Krieger Institute – Baltimore, MD

  Why Join Kennedy Krieger?

At Kennedy Krieger Institute, we’re not just treating patients, we’re reimagining what care can look like for children and teens with autism and related neurodevelopmental conditions. As Assistant Medical Director at our Center for Autism Services, Science, and Innovation (CASSI), you’ll blend clinical practice, leadership, and innovation at one of the country’s most dynamic centers for developmental care.

This is your chance to work at the intersection of cutting-edge science, compassionate care, and systems change, alongside colleagues at Johns Hopkins and an interdisciplinary team of psychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, educators, and more.

  What You’ll Do

This isn’t a “just-clinic” job. You’ll wear multiple hats that keep the work engaging and meaningful:

  • Clinician – Provide expert diagnostic assessments, developmental testing, monitoring, and medication management.
  • Collaborator – Team up with psychologists, therapists, and educators to design holistic care plans.
  • Leader – Mentor and supervise medical staff, shape program culture, and help raise the bar for excellence.
  • Educator & Innovator – Influence residency education, lead quality-improvement initiatives, and drive policies that change lives.
  • Academic Partner – Earn a Johns Hopkins faculty appointment (Instructor through Professor, depending on experience).

  Benefits & Perks

We believe in investing in the people who invest in our mission:

  • Competitive salary + comprehensive benefits
  • Tuition remission perks (dependents at any college; coursework at Hopkins + Peabody for you, your spouse, or dependents)
  • Career growth opportunities and mentorship at a nationally recognized institution
  • The chance to help re-shape the future of autism and neurodevelopmental care

  Who We’re Looking For

You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Are passionate about supporting kids and families with neurodevelopmental conditions
  • Have strong diagnostic skills in autism and related challenges
  • Enjoy team-based, interdisciplinary work
  • Bring empathy, creativity, and resilience to complex cases
  • Want to lead, mentor, and shape the next generation of care models

At Kennedy Krieger, your career isn’t just a job. It’s a mission. If you’re ready to make an impact, we’d love to hear from you.
