Job Description

SLUCare Physician Group, a member of SSM Health, is recruiting applicants for a full-time position at the assistant professor level in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine.

Our team is committed to providing evidence-based patient care while teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Clinical & Academic Environment:

  • Clinical practice is based at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Childrens Hospital, the primary pediatric teaching hospital for Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
  • The hospital features 195 licensed beds and offers more than 60 pediatric programs and services.
  • Faculty members benefit from protected academic time, supporting involvement in:
    • Medical education and curriculum development
    • Quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
    • Mentorship and faculty development
    • Simulation-based education and clinical innovation
  • The division works closely with both medical and surgical subspecialties, serving as the primary admitting service for select medical specialties and providing consultative and co-management support to most pediatric surgical specialties.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide inpatient hospitalist care for pediatric patients
  • Participate in undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including research and quality improvement projects
  • Contribute to departmental service through committee work, curriculum building and enhancement, professional development, and advising trainees

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Missouri
  • Board certification in Pediatrics
  • Completion of a pediatric residency (minimum 3 years)
  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Hospital Medicine (preferred)
