The Salisbury VA Health Care Center Emergency Medicine division is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our nation's heroes. Duties
- Provides comprehensive clinical care, including assessments, diagnostics, and treatment, collaborating with team members to ensure quality, compliance, and patient safety.
- Performs evaluations, orders tests, and makes treatment decisions in line with policies and guidelines.
Requirements
- Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Hold a full, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. State
- Completion of an accredited residency in a core specialty.
- U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be considered when qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA policy.
Preferred Experience
- Board Certified/Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Board Certified in Family or Internal Medicine with emergency department experience.
About our Benefits
- EDRP Authorized: a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible.
- Salary: $255,000-$302,000
- Salary: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, and regular salary increases.
- Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 federal holidays, and up to 5 days for CME).
- Retirement: Federal pension (5 years vesting) and a 401(k) plan with up to 5% VA contributions.
- Insurance: Federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care (many can be carried into retirement).
- Licensure: One full, unrestricted license from any U.S. State or territory.
- CME: Up to $1,000 annually for full-time physicians with board certification.
- Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage.
- Contract: No physician employment contract or significant restrictions on moonlighting.
- Schedule: Compressed tour: Six 12-hour shifts, and one 8-hour shift per pay period.
- Call Coverage: None
- Academic Affiliation: Opportunity for appt at VCOM and ELON University.
