Job Description

Indiana University Health Medical Groupis hiring a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistantto join our inpatientNeurosurgery departmentat Methodist Hospital! Join a highly skilled team providing care for patients with neurotrauma, neurovascular, and neurological diseases (ie. stenosis, brain and spinal cord tumors).

Position Details:

  • Full time, Night Shift
    • 3 12-hour daysper week (6:00pm-6:30am)
    • Rotating weekends
    • No call
  • 100% inpatient
  • Team includes 14physicians and 20APPs

This innovative department provides challenging and rewarding work. Physicians are dedicated to providing value and autonomy to their Advanced Practice Providers and promote a supportive environment for learning. Cohesiveness, communication and critical thinking skills are a necessity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inpatient rounding and consults
  • Patient care coordination
  • Ordering diagnostic imaging and labs
  • Perform complete neurological exams
  • Interpret data and imaging results
  • Assist in developing the plan of care for patients

Qualifications:

  • ACNP, AGNP, FNP or PA certification required
  • APP Experience in neurosurgery and/or ICU preferred
  • If new graduate, clinical rotation and/or clinical rotations in neurosurgery, trauma, or ICU is required
  • General knowledge of neurological deficits and disordered highly preferred
