The Division of Cardiology is requesting a Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Lead position. Primary responsibilities include recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, professional training and development, advocacy, retention, scheduling, and collaboration.
In collaboration with a physician(s), provides for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions. This position is also responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of the Nurse Practitioners in the specified area.The Lead APP facilitates recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of new hires.
The Lead APP coordinates the APP schedule to provide adequate inpatient support and outpatient clinic coverage. They advocate for safe and quality clinical practices that meet collaborative practice agreements and State of Missouri APRN/PA practice guidelines. They facilitate continuing educational opportunities with a focus on cardiology and professional development to support state license certification requirements. They represent the APP team for any clinical practice, quality, or professionalism issues. They act as a liaison and collaborate with the department head, Division faculty, and SSM director of APPs. The Division participates in multiple clinical studies. The research team relies on communication with the Lead APP to ensure patients enrolled in studies to have correct orders and follow up to meet study standards and requirements.
