The Division of Surgical Oncology at Banner University Medical Center Tucson and the University of Arizona is seeking a fellowship-trained Colorectal Surgeon to join our team. Our division is an integral part of the University of Arizona NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The ideal candidate will possess the expertise to deliver comprehensive colorectal care, including management of colorectal cancer, benign colon disease, and benign anorectal disease. The surgeon will join our established Division comprising fourteen surgical oncologists with specialties spanning colorectal, hepatobiliary, upper GI, endocrine, breast, soft tissue, melanoma, and sarcoma.
This opportunity is based at an academic medical center, providing opportunities for research and education. We serve a diverse patient population and have grown in colorectal volume year over year. The environment is friendly and collegial, with a multidisciplinary approach to cancer management and a cooperative team dynamic.
Qualifications:
· Board Certified by the American Board of Colon & Rectal Surgery
· Completion of Colorectal fellowship
· Endoscopy experience preferred
· Valid AZ Medical License (or eligible)
· Desire to work in an academic setting is essential
· 3+ years of experience practicing as a colorectal surgeon in an academic and/or research setting
Practice Highlights:
· Clinical responsibilities include outpatient clinic, inpatient rounding, OR cases, and shared Call Coverage
· Dedicated colorectal surgery practice
· Collaborate with two established colorectal surgeons
· 400–500 cases annually with an inpatient census of 6–20 patients
· Academic research time provided based on experience
· Teaching and mentoring of students, residents, and fellows
· Multiple practice locations with expansion potential
· Collaborative team environment focused on excellence in patient care
Work Schedule: Full-Time; Monday – Friday + shared call coverage
