Designated Institutional Officer Sunrise Consortium; Las Vegas, NV Opportunity for DIO to oversee residency and fellowship programs in HCA Healthcare’s Sunrise Consortium based in Las Vegas, NV.The Graduate Medical Education programs consist of 19 ACGME-accredited programs and over 300 residents and fellows encompassing multiple specialties and subspecialties. Over the next 3 to 5 years, we anticipate further growth of both our residency and medical and surgical sub-specialty fellowship programs.The ideal candidate will be a medical provider that is board certified in their specialty, and may work clinically to supplement the .6 FTE that is designated as Administrative. Exceptional non-physician applicants with significant GME experience may also be eligible for consideration.
Qualifications:
Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), other Doctorate-level (e.g., PhD, EdD, JD), or other qualifications deemed appropriate by the Division Vice President of GME and facility leadership.
Prior experience as a DIO, Residency Program Director, or other significant GME administrative role is highly preferred
Responsibilities:
DIO has the authority and responsibility for the oversight and administration of the Sponsoring Institution’s ACGME-accredited programs, as well as for ensuring compliance with the ACGME Institutional, Common, and specialty/subspecialty-specific Program Requirements.
DIO will work closely with each program and its faculty to recognize areas needing attention and determine what additional resources or efforts are required to maintain full compliance with all requirements.
The Designated Institutional Official (DIO) will collaborate closely with and report directly to the Division Vice President of Graduate Medical Education (GME). Additionally, the DIO will engage with Division and hospital leadership to ensure that every training program delivers the highest standard of educational quality to its trainees.
DIO will lead the local GME team in constantly improving the working and learning environment with the goal of creating a positive culture and an outstanding experience for all residents and fellows.
DIO will monitor changes in ACGME accreditation standards and requirements, disseminate information to relevant stakeholders within the institution, and assure the timely implementations of such changes.
The opportunity to work in a clinical setting will depend on the specialty and the availability of a desired practice setting.
The DIO will be based in the Las Vegas area and will be expected to travel to the three teaching hospitals as needed (Mountainview, Southern Hills and Sunrise) all located within 45 minutes of each other in the Las Vegas area.

FTE value for the DIO administrative time is 100 hours/month at $200/hr.
