The Memphis VA Medical Center, Specialty Care Clinic, located in Memphis, TN, is seeking a Section Chief of Cardiology (Interventional). This leadership opportunity comes with an academic affiliation with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and will oversee the cardiology clinic while teaching and advising residents and fellows. The Section Chief is responsible for the Cardiology Clinic and reports directly to the Chief of Specialty Care.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the administration and supervision of staff physicians, nurses, clinicians, and technicians within the Cardiology Clinic.
- Perform transesophageal echocardiograms
- Clinical practice, supervising and teaching cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students.
- Provide consultation on various forms of cardiovascular disease states, both for diagnosis and treatment in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Diagnoses and treats heart and blook vessel conditions using catheters.
- Perform and interpret cardiac catheterization procedures as well as diagnostic and interventional coronary and peripheral procedures.
- Assist with non-invasive procedures such as stress tests, trans-thoracic or trans-esophageal echocardiograms.
- Share attending call responsibilities with the other cardiologists in covering some night, weekend, and holiday calls as needed.
- Lead and manage the Cardiology/Coronary Car Unit (CCU) team consisting of Cardiology fellows, Internal Medicine Residents, Medical Students, Pharmacists, and mid-level providers while on the inpatient service.
- Give didactic lectures to Cardiology fellows and participate in academic activities such as journal review, grand rounds, conferences, and lectures.

- Experience-Based Salary $313,000 - $400,000
- Work Schedule: Mon-Fri: 8AM-4:30PM w/periodic on call

Requirements:
- Fellowship: Interventional Cardiology
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases
- Transesophageal Echocardiogram experience required
- At least two years of experience in Interventional Cardiology
- Full and unrestricted license from ANY state
- US Citizenship (Non-Citizens will be considered in accordance with VHA Guidance)
