The University of Florida’s Department of Community Health and Family Medicine (CHFM) is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Family Medicine physician with Obstetrics training to join our core residency faculty at the UF Health - Family Medicine Main Street in beautiful Gainesville, FL. This is your chance to make a real difference by providing direct patient care to an underserved population, all while collaborating with an outstanding team of medical students, residents, staff, and nurses.
Clinical Duties:
- Provide direct patient care at the Main Street Clinic.
- Precept residents in continuity clinic and maternity care settings.
- Deliver ambulatory maternity care and support resident learning.
- Collaborate with OB/GYN for hospital-based deliveries, including C-sections.
- Lead the maternity care and obstetric ultrasound track for residents.
- Participate in hospital calls for labor and delivery patients.
- Supervise ARNPs/PAs in team-based care models.
Educational Activities:
- Teach medical students and residents in clinics, the hospital, and at conferences.
- Support scholarly activity and faculty/resident professional development.
- Mentor and coach residents in accordance with ACGME guidelines.
- Lead maternity care curriculum in the residency program.
- Participate in curriculum design and innovation.
- Serve on program evaluation and clinical competency committees.
- Receive mentorship for publishing, presenting, and academic growth.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of a Family Medicine Obstetrics Fellowship with cesarean section experience sufficient for successful credentialing.
- M.D. or D.O. with board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine
- Licensed or eligible for Florida medical licensure
- Experience in full-scope primary care across all ages
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in electronic health records
