The Indiana University School of Medicine - Muncie Family Medicine Residency Associate Program Director plays an integral role in the academic and clinical training of family medicine residents. This position is responsible for assisting the Program Director in overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of the residency program.
The Associate Program Director helps to ensure that the educational environment is conducive to learning and professional growth, while maintaining compliance with accrediting bodies and institutional policies.
The Associate Program Director collaborates with faculty, administrative staff, and external partners to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the residency program.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist PD in developing and implementing the curriculum for the residency program
- Evaluate and mentor residents throughout their training
- Ensure compliance with ACGME accreditation standards
- Recruit and retain high-quality faculty and residents
- Help oversee the residency program budget
- Assist in managing residency program policies and procedures
- Help coordinate clinical rotations and schedules
- Facilitate resident research and scholarly activities
- Organize and participate in recruitment activities
- Maintain records and documentation related to the residency program
- Foster a positive learning environment and culture
- Collaborate with hospital administration and other departments
- Conduct regular program assessments and make improvements as needed
- Serve as a liaison between residents and faculty
- Address resident concerns and grievances
- Ensure residents meet all graduation requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- MD or DO degree with board certification in Family Medicine
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience in Family Medicine
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Indiana
- Experience as a faculty member in a residency program desired
- Proven leadership and administrative skills desired
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to resident education and well-being
- Knowledge of current trends in medical education
- Involvement in professional organizations related to Family Medicine
- Ability to develop and implement educational programs strong organizational and management skills
