Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies is seeking a board-certified Family Medicine Physician (FMOB preferred) to join our triage team. The physician will be responsible for evaluating and managing OB/GYN and non-OB/GYN-related concerns among patients presenting to the triage or emergency area in a high-volume women’s hospital setting.
This role is critical in ensuring that patients with general medical or non-reproductive health complaints receive timely and appropriate care, ensuring appropriate triage, treatment, referral and admission when necessary. Full-time or part-time opportunities are available.
Highlights/Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and manage OB/GYN and non-OB/GYN complaints (e.g., respiratory symptoms, gastrointestinal issues, hypertension, diabetes, musculoskeletal complaints, dermatologic conditions, minor infections, etc.) among patients presenting to OB/GYN triage.
- Perform initial assessments, order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests, and initiate treatment as needed.
- Determine appropriate level of care and disposition (e.g., discharge, admission, referral).
- Coordinate referrals to appropriate specialty services or higher levels of care when warranted.
- Collaborate with OB/GYN providers, nursing staff, and specialists to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Never work alone! Work alongside an OB/GYN Physician and 2 Advanced Practice Providers.
- Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives as appropriate.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on primary care protocols and emergency interventions.
Qualifications:
- MD/DO degree
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine with or without OB residency program.
- Board-certified in Family Medicine.
- Must have or must be able to obtain Florida Medical License
- Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or triage settings is highly preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
