IU Health is seeking a patient-focused GenitourinaryOncologist to join ourpractice in Indianapolis, IN at The Simon Cancer Center. The GU team would like a candidate that can display critical thinking, be proactive and also be a team player.
Position Details:
- Full-time- Mon- Fri 8a-4:430P
- 100%Outpatient
- No call schedule
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments of GU oncology patients in the outpatient setting.
- Monitor for treatment-related toxicities and assess readiness for systemic therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted agents.
- Manage symptoms and provide supportive care throughout the cancer care continuum.
- Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, pharmacists, and other team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and symptom management.
- Participate in tumor boards, clinical rounds, and academic conferences.
- Accurately document patient encounters and care plans in the EMR.
- Engage in quality improvement and academic initiatives as appropriate.
- Guaranteed 4-hour administrative time
Minimum job requirements
- NP/PA graduate with oncology experience
- New graduates welcome: Oncology experience is a plus, but not required
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care in an academic setting
