The Salisbury VA Health Care System’s Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service (P&LMS) is seeking a highly motivated, AP/CP Board-Certified or Eligible Pathologist. Candidates should have a strong background and recent experience in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
Duties
Clinical Pathology:
- Supervise and interpret activities related to Blood Bank, Clinical Chemistry, Special Chemistry & Toxicology, Microbiology, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Serology, and Flow Cytometry.
Medical Conferences:
- Deliver presentations at Surgical M&M, Thoracic, General Surgery, Breast Tumor Board, and other conferences as requested.
Professional Interaction:
- Communicate regularly with physicians, nurses, administrators, technologists, and patients.
Availability:
- On-call 24/7 via beeper and phone, with occasional on-site duties at the hospital.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Eligible in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
- Hold a full, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. State
- U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be considered when qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA policy.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, and regular salary increases.
- Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 federal holidays, and up to 5 days for CME).

- Licensure: One full, unrestricted license from any U.S. State or territory.

- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
