The University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC), a member of the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join our well-established, high-functioning General Surgery practice located on the hospital’s main campus in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

 

Job Description

 

  • Join a collegial team of four general surgeons providing a full spectrum of bread-and-butter general surgery.
  • Perform inpatient and emergency department consults, manage post-operative care, and see clinic patients (new and established).
  • Enjoy dedicated OR block time, with the ability to perform a wide range of minimally invasive procedures.
  • Supported by advanced practice providers and a highly efficient surgical and administrative staff.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in General Surgery
  • Strong interest and experience in minimally invasive surgical techniques
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a community hospital setting with access to academic system resources

Qualifications

 

Education and Experience

  • Possesses and maintains current license to practice medicine in the State of Maryland required.
  • Possesses and maintains current Board Certification or Board Eligibility in General Surgery
  • Possesses and maintains current DEA or similar Narcotics and Controlled Substances Certification required.
  • Possesses and maintains, if applicable, appropriate clinical privileges at a minimum of one UMMS affiliated acute care facility.
  • Demonstrates meeting minimum CME requirements for licensure and board certification.
  • Demonstrates appropriate qualifications and experience to perform the duties required of this position.

Compensation: $275,000 annual salry. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, training, and qualifications.

Other Incentives: call compensation, sign on bonus of $20,000.00 and productivity incentives based on RVUs
