- We’re a welcoming, resilient team of 18 physicians and 4 APPs, who work closely with other hospital staff and departments to bring the best possible quality of care to our patients at Lourdes Hospital.
- Our team has clinicians from diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds who are supportive and have a collaborative nature with other staff and departments.
- Many clinicians on the team are active on hospital committees, which helps solidify our relationships with specialists and our very supportive C-suite.
- Our clinical performance nurse assists you in the process of providing a high-quality patient care experience.
Qualifications:
- Board-certified internal medicine or family medicine trained physician
- Active medical license or eligible to become licensed in New York
- 2 years+ Hospitalist Medical Director experience preferred
Practice in the Heart of the Community Scheduling:
- Monday through Friday schedule
- 3 clinical shifts per month
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical oversight and foster a family-like environment within a blended, collaborative team.
- Lead efforts in utilization management, compliance, and clinical documentation improvement at Lourdes Hospital.
- Collaborate with hospital administration to identify and implement performance improvement initiatives such as length of stay, readmissions, and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in monthly hospitalist team meetings and provide ongoing education and support to our clinicians.
- As a day clinician, your responsibility will encompass rounding patients, discharging when appropriate, occasional admission and participating in multidisciplinary rounds.
- The hospital has a co-managed ICU with intensivist support, no procedures or vent management required.
- Our hospitalist team is part of the rapid response and code team we’re all certified in basic life support and advanced cardiovascular life support. The intensivists will provide support.
- We use EPIC EMR and have access to our own internal informatics platform.
