Lake Huron Medical Center in Port Huron, MI, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Emergency Medicine Medical Director to lead our Emergency Department team. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on clinical care with administrative leadership in a supportive, community-focused environment.

Clinical Hours: 80–100 hours/month in the Emergency Department
Administrative Time: Balance of time dedicated to department oversight, quality initiatives, and leadership activities
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (day and night shifts available)
Team Structure: 1 physician and 1 advanced practice provider (APP) per shift
Patient Volume: 53 visits per day
Trauma Level: Non-trauma designated, community hospital environment
EMR: EPIC.
Clinical Duties:
Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department (80–100 hours per month)
Collaborate with APPs and nursing staff to ensure quality, timely care
Serve as a clinical role model for the department
Administrative Duties:
Oversee clinical operations of the Emergency Department
Monitor and improve ED performance metrics including throughput, patient satisfaction, and quality outcomes
Lead departmental meetings and participate in hospital committees
Collaborate with hospital administration to align department goals with system objectives
Participate in recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance evaluations of ED staff
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices
Board-certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM)
At least 4 years of clinical experience in emergency medicine
Minimum 1 years of leadership experience (e.g., Director, Assistant Director, or Lead Physician)
Strong communication, organizational, and team-building skills
Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
