Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an on-call general cardiologist who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. If you want to make a difference in someone’s life every day, consider a position with a team of 18 cardiologists and 5 nurse practitioners who are doing just that, making a difference.


The ideal candidate will provide the full scope of on-call cardiology services which fall under his/her field of training, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care and health maintenance to patients sixteen (16) years of age and above. In addition, a cardiologist is a member of the team. In that capacity, they are expected to be familiar with the philosophy, goals and objectives and work collaboratively to achieve them.


The schedule is one weekend per month; hours are from Friday 5 pm to Monday 8 am. Duties include rounding on inpatients, taking calls, and reading echocardiograms. The position is at White Oak Medical Center in Silver Spring Maryland.


Qualified candidates will possess:

  1. Degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy.
  2. American Board of Cardiology certified or Board-Eligible (within 5 years of completing residency)
  3. Experience with EKG, echo, stress echo.
  4. Excellent written and verbal skills
  5. Excellent skills in maintaining highly confidential information
  6. Skilled in compiling clinical documentation in a timely manner
  • Strong clinical background and business acumen
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people at various levels.
  • Successful track record in primary care and specialty integration in a multispecialty group practice environment
  • Successful record of leading quality initiatives in a group practice setting.
  • Working knowledge and experience in practice leadership in a population health/medical home environment
  • All interested physicians must exhibit dedication to support, grow and develop the Medical Group.
