Our MFM OB/GYN is seeing a Certified Nurse Midwife to provide care composed of knowledge, skills, and clinical judgments that foster the delivery of evidence-informed, patient centered care. the CNM must communicate openly with other providers practicing a mutual collaboration and providing quality care that falls within the individual’s professional scope of practice.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Elicits a detailed and accurate history, performing a comprehensive physical examination identifying problems and recording pertinent data in a professional format.
- Consultation with appropriate healthcare providers, including collaborating physician.
- Collaborates with multi-disciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
- Issuing prescriptions of appropriate controlled and non-controlled drugs, devices and immunizing agents.
- Obtaining and/or reviewing routine diagnostic studies and laboratory tests.
- Formulating an initial diagnosis and/or differential diagnosis and instituting appropriate treatment including the writing of outpatient prescriptions and inpatient orders.
- Counseling and instructing patients on issues concerning their pregnancy or GYN health.
- If applicable, assisting the physician in the inpatient settings by conducting patient rounds, recording progress notes, determining and implementing therapeutic plans or assisting at surgery.
