Bon Secours is hiring an experienced Cardiac Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join our high-performing cardiovascular surgery team at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, VA. This role is focused on providing advanced care to adult patients across the full surgical continuum.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
- Call: 1:4–1:6 (weekend rounds + first call Fri 5 PM–Mon 7 AM)
- Setting: Inpatient & outpatient clinic
- Patient Volume: 5–10/day (ages 21+)
- Procedures: Chest tube and pacing wire removal, IABP management
- Growth/Development: Opportunities for professional growth, continued education and involvement in groundbreaking procedures
Responsibilities:
- Preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative management of cardiac surgery patients
- Perform physical exams, order/interpret diagnostics, manage recovery
- Educate patients and families; participate in ERAS and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Active VA NP license and AGACNP certification
- 1+ year of cardiac surgery NP experience preferred
