Premier Outpatient Behavioral Health - Montgomery County is seeking a Board-certified/Board-eligible Adult Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team.
The Psychiatrist functions as a member of a treatment team to deliver direct patient care in the adult mental health outpatient clinic. Specializing in medication management, the Psychiatrist provides comprehensive care for patients with mental health conditions by prescribing and managing medications, monitoring their effectiveness, and adjusting treatment plans as needed. This role also involves educating patients and their families about medications, potential side effects, and treatment options, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
Nature and Scope
Acting as a vital partner in the patient’s mental health journey, the Psychiatrist will manage the patient’s diagnosis by ensuring the safe, effective, and personalized use of medication to promote well-being and recovery. The Psychiatrist's role includes duties such as:
- Psychiatric Evaluation: Conducting thorough assessments to diagnose and evaluate mental health conditions.
- Medication Prescription: Prescribing appropriate medications based on individual needs and treatment goals.
- Medication Monitoring: Regularly monitoring patients' response to medication, assessing for effectiveness and side effects.
- Treatment Plan Adjustment: Modifying medication dosages or treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes.
- Patient Education: Educating patients and their families about medication usage, potential side effects, and the importance of adherence to the treatment plan.
- Collaboration: Working with therapists, primary care physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and coordinated care.
- Crisis Intervention: Providing support and guidance during mental health crises.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records, including medication management information.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program.
- Valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine by the State of Ohio Medical Board.
- Board-eligible or Board-certified in Adult Psychiatry.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and mental health disorders.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
