Job Description

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a talented faculty physician to join the newly developed Section of OBGYN Hospitalists in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Nashville, Tennessee.

 

Position Highlights:

  1. Vanderbilt’s OBGYN Department is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team of over 170 general and specialist physicians, NPs, and CNMs in six specialty divisions dedicated to clinical excellence in women’s health care and training the next generation of women’s health care providers.
  2. In order to meet growing demand, a new section of Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospitalists is being formed to support our high volume/high acuity inpatient Gyn service and our L&D team, which performs over 5700 births annually.
  3. Round on inpatient gyn service, cover consults, transfers, and emergent gyn surgeries, and provide coverage on the Labor & Delivery unit.
  4. Great work/life balance: 13-14 shifts per month; 12-hour shifts.
  5. Faculty appointment at the rank of assistant professor or associate professor with the opportunity to teach fellows, residents, and other learners.

Qualifications: MD/DO with board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology with a solid commitment to the Vanderbilt values of innovation, collaboration, and quality. Prior OBGYN hospitalist experience or completion of an OBGYN Hospitalist fellowship program is preferred, but not required. Academic rank is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and career goals.
