Position: Rheumatologist
Location: Richland and Crawford Counties, Ohio (specific locations may include Ontario, Mansfield, Bucyrus, and Galion, with a primary focus on outpatient care.)
About the Opportunity:
As an Outpatient-Only Rheumatologist with Avita Health System, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide spectrum of musculoskeletal and systemic autoimmune conditions. You will have the opportunity for prolonged involvement in patient care, utilizing a comprehensive approach that includes imaging, pharmacological modalities, and joint/soft tissue injections. Our multidisciplinary working model ensures seamless coordination with primary care practitioners, other medical and surgical specialists, and allied health professionals to provide holistic patient care.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Diagnose and treat inflammatory disorders, systemic autoimmune diseases, degenerative diseases, soft tissue disorders, chronic pain syndromes, and metabolic bone diseases in an outpatient setting.
- Manage common conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, osteoarthritis, gout, tendinitis, and bursitis.
- Conduct thorough patient histories, physical examinations, and interpret diagnostic tests (laboratory, imaging).
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including medication management, referrals to physical/occupational therapy, and joint/tendon injections.
- Provide ongoing patient education on conditions, medications, coping mechanisms, and strategies for improving quality of life.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
- Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Rheumatology.
- Valid Ohio medical license or eligibility for licensure.
- Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to providing patient-centered, high-quality care.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
