Position Overview:
The Infectious Disease Physician will be responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of infectious diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role involves collaboration with other medical specialties, participation in infection control initiatives, and providing expert consultation to primary care providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive infectious disease consultations and ongoing care for hospitalized patients and outpatients.
- Diagnose and treat bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections.
- Manage complex cases, including HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, sepsis, and healthcare-associated infections.
- Participate in antimicrobial stewardship programs to optimize antibiotic use and minimize resistance.
- Collaborate with hospital epidemiology and infection prevention teams.
- Educate patients, families, and healthcare professionals on infectious diseases and preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required.
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Infectious Disease.
- Completion of an accredited Infectious Disease Fellowship program.
- Valid Ohio medical license or eligibility for licensure.
- Strong clinical skills and a commitment to evidence-based medicine.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
