The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System (CTVHCS) is seeking experienced and dynamic Radiologists! This position is for an experienced diagnostic radiologist who is proficient in interpreting a full range of diagnostic imaging examinations from the modalities of MRI, CT, diagnostic ultrasound, general radiography, and fluoroscopy. Board certification in Diagnostic Radiology is preferred. Subspecialty fellowship training within the past 10 years is desirable. Experience in interpreting PET/CT and general Nuclear Medicine examinations is also desirable. McKesson PACS and voice recognition transcription capabilities link a large outpatient clinic in Austin, a large veteran's psychiatric hospital in Waco, and four outlying community-based outpatient clinics with the main medical center in Temple. The Imaging Service performs approximately 125,000 exams per year and utilizes five 1.5 T MRI units, six multi-detector CT scanners, eight diagnostic ultrasound machines, and two digital mammography units. A Nuclear Medicine section is integrated into the service at the Temple facility. Primary after-hours on-call exam interpretations are handled by a robust and reliable teleradiology service.
Work Schedule: TBD (Typically M-F, 0800-1630, plus rotating on-call responsibilities: Teleradiology service currently provides evening, overnight, and weekend coverage. Staff radiologists are on call for back up in case technical issues prevent cases from being read by the teleradiology service and to answer questions from clinicians and technologists.

Recruitment/Relocation Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Potential incentive may be calculated as a percentage of approved salary based on several factors including the candidate's experience and recruitment difficulties. Incentive may be paid as a lump sum payment at the beginning of the required service period.
Pay: Salary Range: $355,180 — $400,000. Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Education and length of practice are considered through a formal pay-setting process to determine the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay).
Paid Time Off: 50–55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 days paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
