Job Description

The Physiatrist is to practice in accordance with VA guidelines; Battle Creek VAMC policies/procedures; medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations; and in accordance with current Joint Commission standards. The incumbent will plan, develop, and implement comprehensive, complex treatment and care management programs for individual patients to relieve pain, restore, or enhance performance, and maximize ability to function as independently as possible. Patients seen in the PM&RS clinic are evaluated and treated by the Physiatrist for procedures such as musculoskeletal evaluation and treatments to include expertise/experience in joint and soft tissue injections including ultrasound/EMG guided procedures, performing electrodiagnostic procedures and consultations, and provide general PM&R outpatient care and cross-coverage for other Physiatrists as needed. The incumbent will interpret tests, including measurements to assess normal parameters of physiological functions as well as pathophysiological, pathomechanical, electrophysiological, ergonomic, and developmental deficits of bodily systems to determine diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and prevention. Other duties include responding to patient telephone calls, informing patients of test/lab results, ordering, and renewing medications, giving telephone or e-mail advice to other providers, and administrative duties, if any.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
There are no on-call responsibilities.
