Join Jefferson Health New Jersey’s Nocturnist team, providing dedicated overnight inpatient care in our South Jersey acute care hospitals. This full-time role involves 11–12 twelve-hour shifts per month (7 p m–7 a m), offering a supportive and sustainable work schedule.
- Overnight Admissions & Inpatient Care: Evaluate and admit patients from the ED, conduct night rounds, and manage care for previously admitted patients.
- Cross-Coverage Support: Provide backup to APCs, assist with ICU needs, including rapid responses and Code Blue events.
- Clinical Supervision (Optional Academic Track): Supervise residents and support triage and admissions for teaching teams—three Nocturnists typically cover each night.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate effectively with interdisciplinary teams (nursing, specialists, social work) and ensure comprehensive transitions at shift change.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain thorough charting of histories, physicals, daily notes, and plans of care, ensuring compliance and accurate comorbidity coding.
