Job Description

Schedule: Full-Time (Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm), Approximately 8 weeks of Stroke and General Neurology call per year.
Location: Arlington, VA
Compensation: Competitive base salary plus generous bonus incentives.

 

Responsibilities

 

  1. Seeking a dynamic, engaging, and patient-centered General Neurologist to join an established, hospital-based Physician Group Neurology team.
  2. Will participate in clinical activities of the Neurology service line at all levels, with particular experience and interest in ambulatory general neurology.
  3. Experience and interest in seeing General Neurology patients.
  4. Participate in Stroke & General Neurology call approximately 8 weeks of inpatient General Neurology/Stroke coverage per year.
  5. Will join an existing team of four Physicians and four APPs, including one Neuro-Interventionalist and 3 Vascular Neurologists; partnership in place with an Epilepsy group that reads all EEGs.
  6. Will develop and maintain an outpatient neurological practice on main campus, and support one off-site multi-specialty practice if needed.
  7. Contribute to clinical, research, services and education to the teaching hospital.
  8. Be an active member of the medical community, with strong citizenship.
  9. Possess excellent analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  10. Communicate well with all levels of the hospital/organization.
  11. Perform other duties as determined by the Medical Director in support of the Department of Neurology.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

  1. MD or DO.
  2. Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.
  3. Successful completion of residency program in Neurology.
  4. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology.
  5. Training and familiarity in the use of EPIC (EMR) preferred.
  6. General Neurology post-fellowship experience is a plus.

 

Current Team

 

  1. Accredited Stroke Center with a Full-Service Neurology Team.
  2. Medical Director specializing in Neurointerventional procedures.
  3. Full-Time Neuro-Hospitalists, covering half of our Stroke & General Neurology call.
  4. Full-Time Neurologist specializing in migraine and headache.
  5. 3 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) splitting time between office and inpatient rounding.
