We are seeking an exceptional individual to serve as the Chief of Psychiatry Service, where you will carry overall responsibility for program planning involving psychiatric care for patients at our medical center and associated outpatient clinics.
Position Overview:
As the Chief of Psychiatry Service, you will lead both professional and administrative activities within the service. This role is split between administrative/supervisory duties (49%) and clinical duties (51%), providing a balanced responsibility that allows you to shape mental health policies and directly impact patients' lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Participate in Mental Health meetings, leadership meetings, and facility committees as a representative of Mental Health and Psychiatry Services.
- Staff Supervision: Oversee and manage the Psychiatry Service staff, ensuring high performance and excellence in service delivery.
- Clinical Excellence: Provide clinical services as a psychiatrist, including assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health and substance use disorders.
- Operational Oversight: Develop, implement, and manage operational policies and procedures for the Psychiatry Service.
- Training Director: Serve as Psychiatry Resident Clinical Training Director for all our affiliations with accredited Psychiatry training programs.
- Quality Assurance: Supervise and ensure the timely and quality completion of Compensation and Pension Mental Health evaluations.
- Collaboration & Consultation: Provide consultation for mental, behavioral, and emotional disorders, and ensure timely clinical reviews of ongoing acute psychiatric admissions.
- Education & Training: Deliver continuous education, selection, evaluation, and orientation for staff members.

Requirements:
- United States Citizenship: Required.
- Medical Degree: Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any state, territory, or Commonwealth of the U.S., or the District of Columbia.
- Residency Training: Completion of an accredited residency training program leading to board certification eligibility.
- Board Certification: Board eligible or certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
- Proficiency: Proficient in spoken and written English.
