Neurology Job at VISN23 VA Midwest Health Care in Sioux Falls, SD

The staff Neurologist will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

• Provide comprehensive care to include diagnosis, treatment and education of patients with Neurologic disorders.
• Evaluate, triage, and prioritize consult requests to ensure timely care for patients suspected of having disorders of the nervous system.
• Coordinate medical management and care with Primary Care providers and other medical personnel in a multidisciplinary health care delivery system.
• Perform, supervise, and interpret results of procedures related to Neurologic disorders such as lumbar punctures, EMGs, and EEGs.
• Lead the Code Stroke team in accordance with the facility stroke protocol.
• Perform administrative tasks as assigned, such as peer reviews, Compensation and Pension evaluations, and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE).
• Provide on call services as needed for after hours and weekend support.
• Provide clinical supervision and support to any Physician Assistants and/or Nurse Practitioners working in the Neurology clinic.
• Physician will be required to attend staff meetings, serves on committees, teams, workgroups, and peer reviews as requested. Completes CME, VA Training, HIPAA, Security training, and other training mandatory trainings.

Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm or 7:30am - 4:00pm
