Medical Director – Living Donor Kidney Program
Banner University Medical Center-Tucson | Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology

The Banner University Medical Center invites applications for a visionary leader to serve as Medical Director of the Living Donor Kidney program at the Assistant, Associate or full Professor level, commensurate with experience. This is an amazing opportunity to build upon your leadership abilities and help build and shape the future of a rapidly expanding and academically vibrant abdominal transplant program that is expanding its footprint in innovative transplant care.

This is a transformative moment in Tucson’s transplant landscape, with the expansion of its liver, kidney and pancreas transplant programs. The University of Arizona is advancing into robotic organ transplantation, with a future expansion into auto-islet transplantation backed by the internationally acclaimed BIO5 Institute – a globally recognized research hub for organ regeneration, perfusion, and cellular transplantation.

You will be part of a growing team that is committed to clinical excellence, academic collaboration, and innovation in organ transplantation. Competitive packages will be available for the appropriate candidate.

 

Requirements and Essential Functions

•Board Certified/Board Eligible Nephrology

•Successful completion of a General Nephrology and Transplant Nephrology Fellowship

•Desire and ability to participate in clinical research, teaching, publications

•Team player with the ability to ‘think out of the box’

•Committed to patient care and to science

 

Work Schedule / Call

•3-5 clinics per week

•Inpatient Rounding: 15-20 patients/average

•Outpatient Clinic: 12 patients/average

•Weekend/night call: shared equally.
