The Mason City Clinic (MCC) in Mason City, Iowa has an excellent opportunity for a BC/BE non-invasive/general cardiologist to join the busy practice of 13 physicians.

• Cardiology department responsibilities include inpatient, outpatient, and outreach services.
• 15-county referral base with 300,000 population draw area.
• Local hospital has physician staffed ED & hospitalist services.
• Fullrange of cardiology services including non-invasive, invasive, interventional, and EPworking together withcardiac surgery and vascular surgery services.
• Training opportunitieswith thecardiology fellowship program.
• General call 1:6 with cardiovascular fellows taking first call duties.

*Evaluates patients.In doing so, reviews and interprets patients health history, conducts physical exam, and reviews laboratory, x-ray, and other test reports to determine diagnosis.

*Based on results of patients evaluation, develops and implements treatment plan and provides education to patients.

*Communicates findings and treatment plan to patient, family members if present, and referring physician.Answers questions to ensure complete understanding of information.

*Recognizes abnormal patient responses to treatment, surgery and/or medication and implements corrective actions as appropriate.

*Documents all aspects of care provided.Completes paperwork necessary to assure payment for services rendered.

*Participates in the outreach clinic schedule as assigned.

*Participates in the call coverage rotation.

*Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate articles, journals, and related material, and by attending seminars, conferences and so forth.

Job requires bending, twisting, lifting, sitting and standing on a regular basis.

Approximately 90% of time is spent in direct patient care activities.

Approximately 10% of time is spent in paperwork, equipment, supplies, committee meetings, etc.
