About the Opportunity

Aligned Providers Wyoming, an independent provider-owned group, is seeking a Hospitalist/Internal Medicine Provider to join our group and practice in the Internal Medicine Department in Gillette, Wyoming.

Position Overview:

As a hospitalist you will be providing comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients, including diagnosing and managing acute illnesses, coordinating with specialists, and ensuring continuity of care. This role focuses on the comprehensive care of adult patients, including the management of ICU patients and ventilators. The position requires no procedural responsibilities and excludes pediatric care, allowing you to concentrate on delivering exceptional adult inpatient care

    About Campbell County Health

    Since its inception in 1953, Campbell County Health has evolved into a comprehensive healthcare system encompassing Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, nearly 20 clinics, the Legacy Living & Rehabilitation Center for long-term care, and the Powder River Surgery Center. As a designated Area Trauma Hospital by the State of Wyoming, it employs around 80 physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners across 20 specialties. With over 21,000 patient visits annually, this facility offers an exceptional opportunity in rural medicine.

    Hospitalist Department Highlights

    1. Patient Volume: 6-10 per day
    2. EMR System: Meditech
    3. Department Capacity: 27 beds
    4. Shift Details: 12 hours shifts (option to work block shifts)
    5. Trauma Designation: Designated as a trauma hospital, provides critical care and trauma services and has an affiliation with UC Health.

    Responsibilities

    • Patient Care Management: Deliver comprehensive inpatient care for adult patients, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatments for a variety of conditions, ensuring continuity of care throughout hospitalization.

    • Critical Care Oversight: Manage ICU patients, including ventilator support and other critical care interventions, while adhering to established protocols.

    • Care Coordination: Collaborate with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare team members to create and implement individualized care plans for patients.

    • Patient and Family Engagement: Provide clear explanations and compassionate support to patients and their families, fostering trust and informed decision-making.

    • Quality and Compliance: Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough medical records, ensuring compliance with all hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.

    • Education and Mentorship: Support the development of medical staff and trainees through mentorship and clinical guidance as needed.

    • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Actively participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and hospital committees to enhance patient outcomes and department efficiency.

    • Shift Management: Provide continuity of care during scheduled shifts, including day and night rotations, while ensuring timely handoffs and patient transitions.

    • Emergency Preparedness: Respond effectively to medical emergencies within the hospital setting, coordinating rapid assessment and intervention as needed.

    Position Requirements

    Education

    1. Medical Degree - MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
    2. Residency: Internal medicine

    Licensure/Certification

    1. Board Certified in Internal Medicine (ABIM or AOBIM)
    2. ACLS, BLS and ATLS

    Experience

    1. Preferred 1+ years’ experience
    2. New grads may be considered

    Work Authorization

    1. USA Citizen or Appropriate work authorization

    Work Environment

    1. May work under stressful circumstances at times.
    2. Travel may be required

    Physical Requirements

    1. Medium Work – Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
