WellSpan Medical Weight Management is seeking a dynamic Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician (MD or DO ) who is board-certified in Obesity Medicine by American Board of Obesity Medicine or completed fellowship in Obesity Medicine. This is a great opportunity to join a collegial team that works collaboratively with Primary Care Physicians and Bariatric Surgery, to provide patients with the best care possible , is dedicated to transforming the care of obesity and reducing the stigma associated with obesity . The ideal candidate will be adaptable, compassionate, open-minded, and comfortable supervising Advanced Practice Providers .
Practice Specifics:
- Innovative providers include a lead physician, four experienced CRNPs , and two PAs.
- Program Administrator and experienced practice managers.
- Prior authorizations handled by a dedicated team.
- Strong referral base from a six-county area with a focus on increased patient access.
- Flexible hybrid care model of remote/in-person.
- Monday through Friday schedule, 40 hours per week, with 35 clinical hours. Flexibility for a 4-day work week.
- 40-minute new patient appointments and 20-minute follow-ups giving plenty of time for quality care.
- Opportunity to eventually develop a Pediatric Weight Management Program.
Responsibilities:
- Provide evidence-based care for treating obesity, utilizing the four pillars: nutrition, exercise, behavior change, and prescribing medication when necessary.
- Maintain a non-judgmental approach to treatment with efficient listening and responsiveness.
- No call required. Outpatient-only role.
- Communicate with patients through the portal in a timely manner for any questions or concerns, which are pre-screened by the clinical team.
- Provide personalized plans for patients to help them achieve their goals.
- Provide clinical guidance and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers, medical assistants, and the rest of the team as assigned.
- A good understanding of telemedicine and Epic is preferred.
