Emergency Medicine Opportunity – Cumberland Valley Region (Barbourville, Harlan and Middlesboro)

  Appalachian Regional Healthcare’s Cumberland Valley region—home to Middlesboro ARH Hospital, Harlan ARH Hospital, and Barbourville ARH Hospital—offers exceptional opportunities for Emergency Medicine clinicians. These community-focused hospitals provide a wide range of clinical experiences, flexible scheduling, and a supportive, team-oriented work environment. Serving the heart of southeastern Kentucky, the Cumberland Valley region combines meaningful practice with a welcoming community, scenic mountain living, and a strong sense of purpose in caring for rural populations.

  Facility Highlights:

• Barbourville ARH Hospital – Community-centered hospital providing well-rounded Emergency Medicine practice with a focus on personalized, rural patient care.
• Annual ED Volume: 11,000 visits.
• Harlan ARH Hospital – Mountain-region facility delivering diverse Emergency Medicine cases and hands-on experience in a close-knit clinical environment.
• Annual ED Volume: 14,000 visits.
• Middlesboro ARH Hospital – Level IV Trauma Center, DNV designated Acute Stroke Ready hospital with strong support for rural and regional patients.  
• Annual ED Volume: 13,000 visits.

Qualifications:

• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine.
• Unrestricted Kentucky medical license.
