Job Description

General Surgeon Opportunity – Southside Regional Medical Center | Petersburg, VA

Southside Regional Medical Center is actively seeking a General Surgeon to join our well-established surgical practice in Petersburg, Virginia, just 30 minutes south of Richmond.

What We're Looking For:

  1. Board-certified/eligible General Surgeon
  2. 5+ years of experience preferred
  3. Strong skills in general surgery: hernia, gallbladder, abdominal surgeries
  4. Experience or interest in colon cancer, anorectal disease, and colonoscopy is a plus
  5. Bariatric experience or willingness to cover bariatric call highly preferred

What You Can Expect:

  1. Full-time schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
  2. Up to 7 call days/month (24hr shifts)
  3. Mix of clinical, ER support, inpatient consults, and occasional primary call
  4. Average 20 patients/day
  5. Adult and geriatric patient base from primary care, ER, and inpatient referrals
