Position Title: Occupational Therapist – Full-time or Part-time
Location: Wichita Kansas
Pay: $34.33 - $40.57 per hour (depending on experience)
Shifts: Monday to Friday (Hospital hours: 7:00 am - 6:00 pm)

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have pediatric experience, particularly in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and a passion for providing high-quality occupational therapy services to children. The role involves assessments, treatment planning, family collaboration, and documentation, all while adhering to industry best practices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct Assessments: Perform occupational therapy assessments and re-assessments for pediatric patients, making evidence-based recommendations.
- Develop Treatment Plans: Collaborate with families to create individualized therapy goals that meet the specific needs of the child, fostering input and teamwork.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions tailored to each child’s needs, following industry best practices.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records, completing documentation within two days of service, ensuring compliance with payor requirements and practice standards.
- Billable Hours: Achieve or exceed 90 billable hours per month, ensuring at least 56% of worked hours are billed each month.
- Ethical Practice: Adhere to Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA) and American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) codes of ethics.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work effectively with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive therapy services.
- Customer Service: Engage with patients and families professionally and respectfully, ensuring excellent service and relationship-building.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Clinical Education: Supervise and train occupational therapy or exercise science students as needed.
- Community Outreach: Participate in activities to promote the organization’s services, including networking and marketing initiatives.
- Professional Development: Engage in pediatric professional organizations, seminars, and continuing education to stay current with industry best practices.
- Innovation: Contribute to the development of new practices and share knowledge to foster innovation within the team.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Current Kansas Occupational Therapy License in good standing.
- Certifications:
- CPR Certification (maintained in good standing).
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification (maintained in good standing).
- Experience: Pediatric experience and expertise in AAC are preferred.
- Continuing Education: Stay current with industry best practices through ongoing participation in pediatric workshops, seminars, and conferences.
Physical Requirements
- Movement: Ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, twist, squat, kneel, and lift/carry up to 30 lbs.
- Repetitive Motion: Occasional sitting and typing.
- Communication: Must be able to hear and communicate effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
