Banner Medical Group is actively recruiting for a Physician lead for Anesthesiology with a range of experience in general and subspecialty anesthesia areas for our Anesthesia Division at Banner Gateway Medical Center (BGMC) in Gilbert, AZ. BGMC is a state-of-the-art, 286 bed care facility serving a growing population in the East Valley. The 60-acre campus provides multi-specialty care and access to top specialists in General Surgery, Thoracic, Orthopedics, Bariatrics, Labor and Delivery, Medical Imaging, Oncologic Surgery, and more. Our anesthesiology team when fully staffed will have 24 anesthesiologists and 19 CRNAs. They support all anesthetizing locations including Banner M.D Anderson Cancer Center, operating rooms, endoscopy suites, interventional radiology, and labor and delivery. Our anesthesia model includes CRNAs who work under medical direction in a 3:1 ratio.
The Anesthesiology Physician Lead will partner and collaborate with on-site leadership at both Banner Gateway and MD Anderson and BMG leadership to achieve and maintain operational excellence by meeting metrics determined by the group and facility. The lead will work with Gateway physicians and facility leadership and continue to evaluate the needs of the facility.
Qualifications:
- BC/BE Anesthesiologist
- Unrestricted AZ license or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to obtain AZ DEA license.
Position Details:
- Physician specializes in the delivery of anesthesia services
- Physician will serve as one of two BMG Physician Leads of Anesthesia at Banner Gateway Medical Center (BGMC), and the duties will be as follows:
- Provides Leadership in strategy, planning, and implementation of goals and objectives.
- Interface between BGMC physicians and BGMC leadership.
- Serve as a liaison between the on-site providers and greater operational team.
- Partner and collaborate with on-site leadership (both BGMC and MD Anderson campuses) and BMG leadership to achieve and maintain operational excellence by meeting metrics determined by BMG and BGMC.
- Identifies and participates in implementation of opportunities for performance improvement.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management.
- Performs administrative tasks, including finalization of physician call schedules, specific functions in risk management and care management, and evaluation of equipment and supplies as appropriate.
- May assess training, quality, cost, and services.
- Promotes standardization of products and services.
- Provides education for hospital staff in groups and to individuals.
