Job Summary

The Division of Surgery at Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center (BMDACC) in Jacksonville, Florida is recruiting a fellowship-trained Head & Neck Surgical Oncologist with expertise in microvascular flap reconstruction to join our rapidly growing and highly regarded Cancer Center faculty. The successful candidate will join a team of two Head & Neck/Microvascular Reconstruction surgeons in a busy oncology practice that serves patients throughout the Southeastern United States.

About Our Head & Neck Program

  • Comprehensive program providing care for complex malignant and benign tumors of the oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, salivary glands, thyroid, parathyroid, skin, and advanced ENT conditions.
  • Robust microvascular reconstruction program supported by a multidisciplinary team.
  • Collaborative care model integrating Surgery, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Speech and Language Pathology, Nutrition, Rehabilitation, Nurse Navigators, and Care Coordination.
  • Dedicated speech and language pathology coverage in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Outpatient clinic conveniently located on the Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville campus.
  • DaVinci SP robotic system and transoral laser microsurgery (TLM) available.
  • Service block time provided as practice volume grows.
  • Head & Neck call shared within the group; General ENT call covered by ENT Hospitalist team.
  • Weekly multidisciplinary Head & Neck Cancer Conference for collaborative care planning including Diagnostic Imaging and Pathology participation.
  • Subspecialty Advanced Practice Provider (APP/PA-C) support for OR, inpatient, and clinic coverage.
  • In-house Business Development and Marketing teams to support practice growth.

Position description

  • Develop a focused practice in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology within a comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer center.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across all surgical specialties, medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, diagnostic imaging, rehabilitation, genetic counseling, speech pathology, and survivorship programs.
  • Participate in local and national research and academic collaboration with our BMDACC Clinical Trials Office, and through the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Cancer Network.
  • Contribute to the clinical, academic, and educational missions of Baptist MD Anderson and Baptist Health.
  • Recommended for an Adjunct Academic Appointment at UT MD Anderson commensurate with your achievements.
  • Influence the future direction of our program and join faculty committed to Making Cancer History®.

Experience

License and Certification

  • MD/DO
  • Completion of an accredited Head & Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery fellowship with free-flap experience.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery.
  • Eligible for an unrestricted Florida Medical License and DEA registration.
