IP/OP Psychiatry Job Description
UK King’s Daughters, a 465-bed regional referral center located in Ashland, Kentucky, is seeking a board-eligible/certified psychiatrist to provide both inpatient and outpatient mental healthcare. We are part of the University of Kentucky Health system and operate 40+ primary care clinics in outlying areas of Kentucky and Ohio, which refer patients from a catchment area of about 750,000 people to our main campus for testing and treatment. Earlier this year, we completed a large construction project on campus, providing us with a new main entrance, a brand-new ER, and an all-new Imaging Department. Our Emergency Department sees more than 70,000 patients per year. We offer nearly all medical specialties at our facility, except pediatric subspecialties. Three years ago, a nearby hospital in the community closed, which led to significant growth in patient volumes at our facility.
The incoming physician will receive annual guarantees of $375,000 plus wRVU productivity. Our 27-bed Behavioral Medicine Unit specializes in the stabilization of acute episodes. Patients attend daily individual and/or group therapy sessions. We collaborate with patients, their loved ones, and other healthcare professionals to develop an appropriate course of treatment, aiming to enable patients to return home and resume their lives as quickly as possible. Discharge planners and case managers help coordinate care following hospitalization.
Our Russell, KY outpatient office currently has one full-time child and adolescent physician, one full-time general psychiatrist, 6 full time board-certified PMHNP’s, 2 per diem full -time board certified PMHNP’s, one Psych D, and 4 full time licensed clinical social workers. These professionals work to help patients manage daily responsibilities, social connections, psychological testing and provide treatments for various mental health conditions.
