Job Description

If so, the Eastern Colorado Health Care System (ECHCS) in Aurora, CO, has an opportunity for you! We are looking for a dynamic and committed physician leader to join our team as Chief of Neurology. This opportunity has a combination of clinical, administrative, educational, and research roles. Administratively, you will report to the Chief of Medicine and will serve as the primary supervisor of the Neurology Section.


The Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, CO is actively recruiting an experienced and dynamic Chief Neurologist. Ideal applicants are those who want to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards, as well as the growth and development of a VA neurology program. Must be an excellent leader, communicator, and team player who is adaptable to the needs of a large, well-established medical center.


This physician leader will be assigned to the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, CO. As the Chief of Neurology, you are responsible for the leadership, management, clinical oversight, and operational components of this diverse neurology section. This is a general neurology practice and has flexibility, depending on the candidate’s interests, experience, and track record. You will oversee the delivery of a breadth of clinical care, including inpatient consultation and outpatient clinic. Additionally, subspecialty care including neuroimmunology, neuromuscular, epilepsy, movement disorders, behavioral neurology, sleep disorders, vascular neurology, and neuropalliative care are offered at this teaching hospital. You will work closely with other Neurologists and Nurse Practitioners with different sub-specialty training and interests. Clinical research opportunities are available in this outstanding work and life environment. You must qualify for an academic appointment at our affiliated university, University of Colorado (CU), Denver.

Preferred Experience:

  1. Board Certified in Neurology
  2. Evidence of 2+ years of leadership and academic experience
  3. VA experience a plus


Work Schedule:  Monday-Friday, 40hrs/wk; Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage of the neurology consultation service in rotation with other staff Neurologists.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
