Deaconess Health System is seeking a highly motivated Outpatient Psychiatrist to join our team and serve as the Medical Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health Services. This unique position combines clinical practice with medical leadership, offering the opportunity to shape outpatient behavioral health programs while providing direct patient care.
We offer competitive compensation (Year 1 base salary guarantee of $350,000, with additional Medical Director compensation, plus a $75,000 sign-on bonus), comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and CME allowance.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
- Medication management
- Provide clinical care in an outpatient setting
- Collaborate with PMHNP's, nurses, & therapists.
- Offer supervision of PMHNP's
Serve as the Medical Director of Outpatient Services with responsibilities including:
- Oversight of outpatient psychiatric programs and clinical quality
- Guidance and mentorship for psychiatrists, PMHNPs, and therapists
- Participation in program development and strategic planning with support of the Behavioral Health Leadership Team, Business Development, and the CAO/System Director.
- Ensuring compliance with clinical standards and best practices.
Deaconess Cross Pointe (DCP) offers a full continuum of behavioral health services, including outpatient programs and a fully accredited 60-bed inpatient facility.
Call Responsibilities:
- Share on-call duties with all full-time psychiatrists and inpatient PMHNPs.
- Weeknight coverage, typically once every two weeks (5:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.), responsible for triaging intake calls, providing dispositions, and issuing admission orders.
- Weekend Coverage, approximately one in six weekends, responsible for triaging intake calls and rounding on inpatients Saturday and Sunday. Advanced Practice Nurses provide support every weekend alongside the psychiatrist.
We are seeking a psychiatric leader with the following qualifications:
- Board certification in Psychiatry (MD or DO).
- Eligible for or currently holding an active medical license in the state.
- Experience in outpatient psychiatry and familiarity with intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor advanced practice providers and therapists.
- Strong interest in program development, clinical quality improvement, and team leadership.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
