Southern Medical Group, P.A. (SMG), Tallahassee, FL, seeks a non-invasive, non-interventional general cardiologist to be a part of a rare, exceptional opportunity. Successful candidates will be fellowship trained with extensive experience in all aspects of inpatient/outpatient general cardiology.
SMG is composed of cardiac specialties, vascular surgery, CT surgery, internal medicine/family medicine and is the premier group in the region. While currently serving Tallahassee, South Georgia, and the North Florida panhandle markets, SMG cardiology will be expanding to Panama City Beach, FL in the fall of 2024.
This position is being recruited specifically for the Panama City Beach outreach program. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cardiologist seeking a career challenge in a new, vibrant, growing community located at the world's most beautiful beach.
Through our longstanding partnership with Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, SMG will be the premiere provider of cardiology services in the region with practice operations to include diagnostic imaging in the newly constructed Medical Office Building opening in 2024 on the new healthcare campus located just minutes from the Latitude Margaritaville Watersound community. Additionally, partners TMH and FSU Health are building a state-of-the-art hospital with an expected opening in 2027 with SMG cardiology taking a major leadership role in all phases of cardiac services.
Active in research and education, SMG cardiologists own and operate a well-developed, independent clinical research institute (Tallahassee Research Institute), which has participated in over 100 clinical trials in the past decade and is active in multiple new device and pharmaceutical studies. SMG physicians also serve on faculty at the Florida State University College of Medicine and as preceptors with the FSU College of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency Program, TMH Family Practice Residency Programs and the Florida A & M School of Pharmacy.

TMH and FSU have also broken ground on a new healthcare campus located in Panama City Beach, Florida. The campus is planned to be located on an 87-acre parcel near the intersection of State Highway 79 and Phillip Griffiths Sr. Parkway, just minutes from the Latitude Margaritaville, Watersound community, is a 55-year-and-better community which is planned for 3,500 homes.
