RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assure provision of routine and urgent OB/Gyn services, including maintaining outpatient clinical practice and full active hospital privileges, participating in call coverage as required
- Provide leadership for achieving programmatic clinical quality objectives
- Supervise all LSCC OB/Gyn practitioners; specific duties include periodic written performance reviews (at least annually utilizing the LSCC provider evaluation tool), coaching, managing staff conflicts in accordance to LSCC policies and procedures
- Provide supervision to advanced practice nurses in accordance with the LSCC Delegation Protocol/Collaborative Practice Agreement as needed
- Collaborate with other LSCC medical directors and providers to optimally integrate OB/Gyn care with Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, mental health, and specialty service lines
- Collaborate and interact with a diverse group of clinical and administrative health care professionals, and appropriate community partners, both within and outside LSCC to enhance and expand OB/Gyn services
- Demonstrate a special interest in the area of community medicine, with the ability to support the LSCC mission and readily serve its patient population
- Develop and implement adherence to clinical protocols, accepted standards of clinical care and LSCC quality initiatives when needed
- Actively monitor and manage OB/Gyn service line productivity
- Regularly report clinical quality results to the CMO to be reported to the LSCC Board Quality Assurance (QA) Committee, per QA Committee requirements
- Work closely with the CMO and senior management staff to determine direction and strategies for OB/Gyn services, and to monitor status and report developments
- Assure high quality educational experience for medical students, residents and other individuals in a training role working in LSCC OB/Gyn services
- Travel to and work from various clinic locations as necessary
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by CMO
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSE:
- Must meet all required qualifications and responsibilities of an OB/Gyn Physician (MD or DO, whichever is applicable to licensure and credentials)
- Current valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas
- Current DEA certificate
- MD/DO with board certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology (ABOG or ACOOG required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Proficiency with EMR system
- Ability to work independently with a high level of self-motivation
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSE:
- Bilingual English/Spanish language skills are a definite plus
