RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School are currently seeking a General Neurologist for employment with Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ. The position includes inpatient and outpatient responsibilities and the chance to join a thriving practice with shared call group.

Inpatient work will be conducted at RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick, a cutting-edge facility that serves as a major referral center for patients with movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease, progressive supranuclear palsy and dystonia, epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, neurogenetic disorders, neuromuscular disorders, such as ALS (Lou Gehrig disease) and myasthenia gravis, nervous systems disorders affecting vision, including optic neuritis, and neurobehavoiral disorders such as dementia.

This is a great opportunity for an eager physician to join a robust team with a well-established patient panel. This position allows new staff the opportunity to diversify their career experience by lecturing and rounding with residents and seeing Neurology patients in both the outpatient and inpatient setting.

Candidate requirements:

  • American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Board Certified/Board Eligible
  • Licensed in NJ or eligible for NJ licensure

About Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School:

The Department of Pediatrics has a full complement of pediatric medical subspecialists who actively collaborate with pediatric surgical specialists in clinical care and academic endeavors. In the department are  124 physicians and basic scientists who conduct collaborative research with an emphasis on mechanisms of disease, novel therapies, epidemiology and/or outcomes research in the areas of relevance to childhood diseases. Our centers of excellence include The Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities, Child Health Sciences, and the Institute for the Study of Child Development.  The Department has recently expanded by more than 40 new faculty members and plans to recruit additional faculty, to expand our research, education, and clinical programs and provide improved care to our patients.

The outpatient services are located in the Rutgers Child Health Institute of NJ, a state of the art facility that includes a Pediatric CRC, Pediatric subspecialty offices, and a modern research facility. Our New Brunswick based clinical programs have achieved Accredited Status for Ambulatory Health Care by the Joint Commission, one of only a small number of academic ambulatory practices with this status. Adjacent to the RWJ Barnabas Bristol-Myers Squibb Children s hospital is the PSE&G Children s Specialized Hospital, which is one of the country s largest inpatient acute rehabilitation facilities for children.  Across the street is the Rutgers Cancer Institute of NJ the only NCI designated center in the state of New Jersey.
